An ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe error might occur when your security procedures are set too high or there is incompatibility of third party application with the Internet Explorer. ActiveX is a way through which one represents reusable software parts regardless of the programming language.

The software applications are then made of such activex control components so that they can function properly. In fact, many types of Microsoft applications have such controls in their functionality.  So, when this message is shown that activex controls cant be used, it implies that the internet explorer  is not allowing to open a certain web page.

Given below are the steps to resolve the issue.

STEP 1: Open Internet Explorer

STEP 2: Go to Tools, and then select “Internet Options”
STEP 3: Click the Security tab. Under "Security level for this zone", select the Custom Level button.
STEP 4: Find the entry "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe"
STEP 5: Find the Enable(not secure) and then click “OK”.

STEP 6: Close all windows.

STEP 7: Try again to access Windows Help and Support troubleshooter.

STEP 8: After successfully carrying out the troubleshooting process go back to the settings and then  “Disable” the active X controls option. Changing this control option is necessary because otherwise  some problems in accessing the websites can occur. Its important that such steps for repair
