How to access windows help and support in start menu if it is not working or you get the "cannot find helpctr.exe" error?

If the Windows help and support menu is missing and you receive an error "Cannot find helpctr.exe", then there might be some problem with your registry and some issues with its application path. The helpctr exe error can also occur due to helpctr exe virus. Then the blue screen of death occurs. In that situation, to repair helpctr.exe error, rebooting the system with windows XP CD is the only option.

To fix the problem follow the given steps:

STEP 1: Click Start, select Run, and type Notepad.exe.

STEP 3: Click on the file option in the Menu and choose the Save option. Save the file as: Helpfix.reg

STEP 4: After you have saved the Notepad file, double click on this file.

STEP 5: As you double click on this, select the "YES" option which appears.

STEP 6: After clicking on the YES option, this file automatically merges with your registry.

STEP 7: Restart your PC before using it again. Now restart your PC to save the changes.
