To continue:
a) Register or reinstall the files for me now (Recommended)
b) Let me read about more steps that might be required to solve the problem.
This problem can be solved by re-registering or by updating the DLL(data link library) files that are required by the Windows update to run.
Follow the given steps to resolve the issue:
Step 1: Go to Start, then open Run dialog box. Now, you have to write "services.msc" in the Run box and press “Enter”. 
Step 2: Click twice the "Automatic Updates" service.
Step 3: Under the tab called Log on, make sure that you choose the “Local System Account” and uncheck the choice “Allow service to interact with desktop
Step 4: Now verify the service of hardware profile, should be marked enabled.
Step 5: Choose the "General" tab and check that the "Startup Type" is set on "Automatic" mode. Furthermore, you need to click “Start” under “Service Status
Step 6: You can now use the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) and repeat the above steps with the service. 
Here is an alternative way that will help you eliminate the damaged Windows Update temp folder. It will also help you to re-register updated Windows applications.
This can be done through the following steps:
Step 1: Strike on Start and then go to Run,
Step 2: Then write "REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL" and click “OK”
Step 3: : Once you get the "DllRegisterServer in WUAPI.DLL succeeded" message, press “ENTER
Step 4: Repeat the above listed steps for the commands given below:
REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL
REGSVR32 WUAUENG1.DLL
REGSVR32 ATL.DLL
REGSVR32 WUCLTUI.DLL
REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL
REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL

Now you need to follow various steps as:
Step 1: :Hit on Start, then go to Run dialog box and type “cmd” command in it. Click “OK”.
Now, you have to type “net stop WuAuServ” in opened window and press Enter.
The computer has to be restarted before the above command starts working.
1. Access “Start”, hit on “Run”, enter the command: %windir% and then click on Enter.
STEP 2 : Just change the name of the SoftwareDistribution folder to SDold.
STEP 3 Type the command net start WuAuServ in the RUN dialog box. Access the START Menu and then click on Run to access the run dialogue box.
Thus, you can follow the above mentioned steps and fix the error “Files required to use Windows Update are no longer registered or installed on your computer”.
