Compressing a folder can be done just by few mouse clicks. Right-click on a file (contains multiple folders), click on send to and choose zipped folder. This will automatically create a compressed folder that consists of various files.

The icon should correspond to the format of the compression software selected by you which the zip software supports. The zip softwares are generally open source softwares which supports formats like rar and zip.

Here are some steps that will assist you to run old zip file icon:

Step 1: Click “Start” and then “Run”

Step 2: Now, you need to type Regedit.exe and press ENTER

Step 3: Navigate to the following branch: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ CompressedFolder \ DefaultIcon


Step 4: Now. Double Click the “Default” in the right side Pane & set up its value data to C:\Windows\system32\zipfldr.dll and click OK.
Step 5: Exit the Registry Editor.
