How to resolve error "Setup was unable to open information file netoc.inf. Contact your system administrator" while accessing Add/remove programs panel?
Network Optional Component (netoc.inf) is present in the setup directory of the operating system. So, if any error occurs in this file, the installation and removal of programs can’t happen. When the remove program does not work, problem happens, the users cannot remove program.

- Go to “Start” and then select “Run”. Type :
D:\i386\NETOC.IN_ -r C:\Windows\Inf and Press "Enter" where D:\ is your CD drive, and C:\Windows\ is the drive and directory where you have your OS installed.
Change the path mentioned above as per the location of your Windows operating system and CD Drive in the PC. By following such steps, you can remove programs from XP and the error "Setup was unable to open information file netoc.inf. Contact your system administrator" should be resolved now.
