How to save downloaded mp3 files using Internet Explorer or any other browser?
While downloading mp3 files using Internet Explorer or any other browser, the Save As dialog may add an incorrect file extension (.mp2 or .mpeg, instead of .mp3). Due to this error, despite the availability of windows media player in the system, .mp3 files cant be played. To resolve this error you need to check the Content Type registry settings in your computer.
Here are some steps that will assist you save mp3 files using Window XP:
Step 1: Click "Start" and choose "Programs"
Step 2: Now select the "Set Program Access and Defaults"
Step 3: Click Custom to expand the section
Step 4: Under the menu option, “Choose a default media player”; you have to select “Windows Media Player”
Step 5: Click “OK”.
Step 6: Now play any mp3 file from any website in Internet Explorer. Whenever you click the mp3 file it will automatically play in "Windows Media Player".
Step7:Now Click File—select "Save as" option.
Step 8:You can save your MP3 file anywhere in your PC.
