How to restore any missing system files?

Run the system checker if you are missing files on your system. If you have XP related files it will be monitored and maintained by Windows file protection. For any other missing dll files related to third party application, you need to install the application again to restore those files. The windows system32 config system is missing or corrupt error arises because some files related to windows applications are lost.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue of XP related missing files :

STEP 1: To run Windows System File Checker, go to “Start” and then press “RUN”.

STEP 2: In the dialog box which appears as given below, type in sfc /scannow. Click “enter” to execute the command.

You may require to insert the Windows XP CD according to your system configuration.

STEP 3: After the troubleshooting process, restart your computer. The system file missing error should be completely cured. All the applications of windows which were suffering due to the system32 file missing error should now working properly.
