How to reinstall Disk Defragmenter?

Many times, while using Disk Defragmenter on Windows operating system, an error may occur as “The Disk Defragmenter is not installed on your computer. To install disk defragmenter it, double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon in Control Panel, click the Install/Uninstall tab, and then follow the instructions on your screen”.  This error information pops up due to the reason that the Disk Defragmenter is not installed properly on your system. So, a user has to perform the logical steps to reinstall disk defragmenter.When the situation of disk defragmenter not working happens, then the user has to ensure either the windows disk defragmenter download, but it cant be done. Here are some steps to repair disk Defragmenter:

STEP 1: Click Start, Run and type %windir%\INF
STEP 2. Locate the file dfrg.inf, right-click and choose Install
Here you will find two files such as  dfrg.pnf and dfrg.inf. Now, you have to choose INF file, right click on it and select Install.

Another method to reinstall the Disk Defragmenter includes steps as:

Step 1: Click “Start” and then “Run”

Step 2: Now, you need to type Regedit.exe and press ENTER
STEP 3: You need to navigate the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ explorer \ MyComputer \ DefragPath












STEP 4: In the right-pane, double-click (default) and set its data as follows:

C:\Windows\System32\dfrgui.exe
