How to get rid of error NTOSKRNL Missing or NTOSKRNL Corrupt during boot time?

NTOSKRNL missing or NTOSKRNL error may occur due to corrupt or missing boot.ini file, or your hard-disk drive may need repair. You may get the somewhat similar error message as one shown below.  This file represents the executive and kernel layers of the windows OS and as such is very important for running windows. The various processes which happen due to this file are memory management, hardware virtualization and even process execution. So, once it becomes corrupted, it can hamper the operation of the system considerably. It happens because it contains so many important files like the kernel and the cache manager. So, no one can afford the presence of the ntoskrnl exe is missing or corrupt error in the operating system.

To resolve the issue follow the steps given below:

STEP 1: To Begin the troubleshooting process, insert your Windows XP CD and boot from it.

STEP 2:When you get the following screen press ‘R’.
STEP 3: Select the option of the operating system that matches with the Windows repair kind and then include your admin password to proceed ahead.

STEP 4: Default drive on the command prompt is the C:\ drive (or the drive where you have windows installed). So type in D: to enter cd drive( or which ever drive in which you have cd-drive on your system)

STEP 5: Now type in the command “CD i386” and press Enter. So, use this command to access the XP cd and solve your ntoskrnl exe missing error.

STEP 6: Again enter the command “expand ntkrnlmp.ex_ C:\Windows\System32\ntoskrnl.exe” and press Enter

Note: C here represents the drive where Windows is installed, change the commands according to your system’s specification.

Press eject and take out the CD from the drive and exit the process. These steps will help you to simply repair corrupted ntoskrnl exe file. With these steps, curing the windows system32 config system is missing or corrupt error is so simple.
